Another day, another bug? I've discovered that the PC version of postscript
puts a control-D at the end of its postscript file, while the Unix version
outputs straight printable characters, as the standard indicates. Is this
some kind of PC anachronism???

The consequence is that S-PLUS .eps files inserted into MS Word documents
using insert -> picture -> from file... cause some (all?) postscript
printers to fail. (At least my HP4si and HP5si printers fail miserably.)

There's a workaround: just edit the .eps files with NTEmacs and blow away
the ^D, but really now, this shouldn't happen, should it?
