I would appreciate an advise on controlling iterations
in fitting linear mixed-effects model with lme(), in S+ 4.5 Win.
At termination the program issued a warning
"FUNCTION EVALUATION LIMIT REACHED WITHOUT OTHER
CONVERGENCE in: ms( ~ lme.loglik.identity( ..."
Q1: I would like to increase the limit for function
evalution. This is a parameter (maxfcalls) of ms.control().
Is there a way to change the default value of
this parameter from lme()? (It is not a parameter
of lme.control.)
Q2: Detailed information on iterations prints value of F.
What is this F?
Thanks in advance.
