JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Currently MathSoft has two open Research positions with an emphasis
on statistical methods. We are looking for people to work on projects
in the following areas:
1) survival analysis (nonparametric survival models, interval censored
and/or truncated data models, and other non-standard censored data
models),
2) longitudinal data analysis,
3) robust inference & model selection,
4) spatial epidemiology,
5) errors in variables,
6) general-purpose Bayes analysis software, and
7) tree-based models.
The research work at MathSoft requires software development --- turning
methods developed by statistcal researchers into S-PLUS software that can
be used by the statistical community. Excellent computing skills are
required. An advanced statistical degree is a plus. Researchers who like
writing software and doing methodological research are most likely to be
happy in these positions. We also encourage qualified applicants to write
their own grant applications and publish papers.
Please pass this note on to appropriate candidates, particularly people
finishing a Master or Ph.D degree in a statistics related field with
excellent
software development skills.
Interested parties should send letters of introduction and a copy of their
resume to:
