A position for a Ph.D. student in Statistics is available at the
Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Konstanz,
Germany. The research will be on mathematical and statistical
problems in biology and medicine, and is motivated, in part, by
an ongoing international project on alternatives to animal
experiments. The research will be carried out under the
supervision of Professor Jan Beran at the University of Konstanz
(Department of Mathematics and Statistics;

close cooperation with the Department of Biology
(http://www.biologie.uni-konstanz.de).
Preferred applicants will have a diploma/masters degree in
mathematics, statistics or biostatistics, with an interest in
mathematical/statistical modeling and biological applications.
