[S] lwd argument to lines or segments does not work

Hi,

I would like to change the width of lines in some plots, but the "lwd"
argument to functions such as lines, segments or plot.survfit only works
when lty=1, not with other line types.  I am using SPlus for Win v. 3.3.
Is there something obvious I am missing?  What can I do?
