[S] need to time tomax

I have a data frame with two factors (30 levels & 8 levels), a time variable,
and a response variable.

I am using aggregate to obtain the max(response) at the interaction of the two
factors (240 levels).

I desire to associate the max(response) with the time value at max(response).

Has anyone worked this out?
