Dear S+ers:
I have some data on settling behavior of an organism that I am trying to
do survival analysis on (nothing fancy, just Kaplan-Meier). I am lookig
for the mean time to settlement (i.e. death). Here is the problem, my
data is right censored and I am not sure when they started moving. An
analogy is that you are studying average time until death for people
with cancer and you don't know when they first developed the disease but
you know when they died or if they survived until the end of the study.
I've tried several source (hard copy and in the ether) and have not
found an adequate answer to this problem. Does anyone know how to handle
this problem or is it not solvable. I am even willing to make some
additional assumptions if I need to. I appreciate any comments and
suggestions. Thanks in advance...
Steve
