tapply and aov()

I have a dataframe with multiple assay results and I’d like to prepare an analysis of variance (aov) for each assay. 

My dataframe has a column for the result, a column for  the assay, and a column for the treatment group

I’d like to set this up using tapply, though I’d appreciate help with the syntax (I haven’t found a good example yet in the archives).
