Thread-topic: [S] Create a data frame from matrix
Dear S users,

I have encountered the following question and wanted to hear from the list
appropriate solutions and relevant references.

I have 3 discrete variables, which are potential dependent variables, DV1, DV2,
DV3. DV1 has 3 levels, and DV2 and DV3 have 4 levels. I would like to generate
a composite variable that is transformed from the 3 DVs and the difference is
maximized. Principle components analysis is not appropriate because the
variables are not quantitative. Any thoughts?

TIA,
Ping Zhan
