Very strange enough I get the same result als marcia:

fisher.test(rbind(c(1, 1), c(71, 77)))

     Fisher's exact test

data:  rbind(c(1, 1), c(71, 77))
p-value = 1.0001
alternative hypothesis: two.sided

This results comes from
* beta-version S-PLUS 4.5 and
* from S-PLUS 4.0 release 2
* and from Version 3.3 Release 1 for MS Windows 3.1 : 1995

under Windows NT on a Acer with Pentium processor.

So, what's going on ? Are the S-PLUS results machine dependent ??
