Thread-topic: [S] Concerns about SPLUS version 7
I too am very disappointed that I can no longer use S-PLUS on my work,
home, and laptop machines without tripling the cost. I am the only user
on all three machines. I was formerly one of S-PLUS' biggest boosters
and I'm sure I generated many new customers for them. Now if I recommend
S-PLUS it is with caveats about licensing hassles. When I asked tech
support about licenses for a single user on multiple machines I got no
information about any discounts and if it weren't for the email list, I
wouldn't know they existed. The license fee includes a considerable
amount for tech support and certainly shouldn't have to pay three times
for that.
