In this two-day course, non-parametric approaches based on a composite genetic
distance measure are explored for testing (day one) and characterizing (day
two) differential and directional gene region heterogeneity associated with
phenotype. The methods are implemented using the many developed compilation of
S-PLUS functions that have been placed into an (S-PLUS) menu-driven software,
GENE_S. This course is for people who regularly use S-PLUS (pc version) for
data analysis. Some familiarity with methods of statistical hypothesis
testing, non-parametric theory and the Windows operating system are assumed.
