In the helpfile for cor.test a reference to Conover is made. On p 256-257 Conover illustrates the Kendall tau with an example containing ties. So, it can be expected that S+ allows for ties when usi

Thank you for pointing out that Conover and S+ ignore ties when calculating tau, but that the p-values are indeed corrected (as also appears from the vark-function). Kind regards, Ronald Ronald W.H.
