I'm looking for a way to test goodness of fit for a matched (1:1) data analysis. One can look at deviances or model chi-squares, I guess, but that seems to provide more of a "relative" goodness of f

I have a binary (0 or 1) outcome variable and a continuous predictor variable. When I look at the smoothing plots I don't see much relationship between these two variables, i.e., plots give me almos

Hello everyone, I'm still with Splus2000, and hoping to migrate to R sometime soon. In the mean time, I have to run 'for' loops for my first (semi simple) simulations using nls( ) function. and I'm g

Dear S plus, I'm fitting two frailty models (gamma, normal as given options) , and wondering if I can compare these two models ? Does it make sense to calculate AIC = ( likelihoods - total degrees of

Dear Splus, I'm fitting a model using nls( ) function. ( I'm still with Splus2000 in WindowsXP) but I have a very messy equation ( at least to me) only to estimate one parameter 'Delta'. What's confu

I just wanted to thank you for the valuable inputs. I was able to fit the model yesterday by rewriting my Lambda1, Lambda2 and A as functions of 'Delta'. And then call them in the NLS( ) function. S

I'm trying to find if I can get p value from exact logrank test to compare two survival curves in a small sample problem (n=23), Is there an option or any function available in Splus? I checked survd
