I'm using Splus4.5, release 2, under Windows 95. Some time ago some documented the truncation of text columns from Excel spreadsheets to 31 characters. Now I find that the dataset likewise gets trunc

This looks to me as though S-Plus has been designed for Excel 95 or earlier with a maximum of 16K rows. I use an Excel add-in, purportedly written for Excel 97, that does the same thing. Jim Youngman
