Subject: Access Violation - Wrong Date - JMP 6

Keywords: Windows JMP6, access violation, incorrect date,

If you accidently set your computer's clock forward a month and forget to reset it back to the current date before you run JMP, JMP will stick at that date. If you reset the clock back to the current date and trey to run JMP, you get an error message:

JMP has performed an access violation and will shut down. Error information
will be copied to JMPExcept.txt in the JMP install directory, ...

Uninstalling and re-installing JMP may not fix this problem.

JMP will still run when the computer's clock is set to the future date. You can always always set the computer to that date prior to running JMP and eventually you'll catch up,

but,

You can walk JMP back to the current, correct date.
Start at a date where JMP will run.
Reset the computer back 2 or 3 days and start JMP.
Repeat until the clock is set to the correct date.
