Thread-topic: [jmp-l] JMP Group on FaceBook
All,

I wish you all the best with this new JMP user venture.

As a formal owner of JMP-L, I'd just like to give you some
Advice, in the spirt fostering of continuous process
Improvement, when needed, and always encouraging communication
Within the JMP user community. Before jumping (sorry, I couldn't
resist) off into a new format, more than a few folks should
Do a needs assessment and determine what is lacking in JMP-L
That suggests a new forum would be of benefit to users, exactly
What should be the new capabillities that would actually benefit
The Most users, and which of the many internet resources available
best Provides those capabilities, with appropriate minjimal level
of effort On the part of those maintaining it.

In particular, I'd suggest that great care be taken in considering
Creation of a public script library for what shoud be obvious
Reasons. Of course any individual is always free to do whatever
They want on the internet, but I'd recommend keeping some priority
On what actually serves the needs of the JMP user community.

My bottom line is that most users will be best served if any such
transition is not taken lightly and is thought through thoroughly
With broad user input.

Cheers,
David

A JMP scripting resource would be great.

I have used Matlab and the online resources are fantastic. The available JMP
resources are so restricted in comparison.

We should encourage users with scripts to contribute to a central resource.

Kind regards,

BS
