Dear Mr. Gansen,

I checked our database, and Doug Johnson sent you the following message on
February 17, 1998 regarding your problem:

Dear Carl Gansen,

Thank you for your question:

This is a known bug involving S-PLUS 3.4, Solaris 2.5 and Common Desktop
Environment:

"Many users have reported that 'spin()' and 'brush()' do not
erase points when the axes are rotated - leaving a blur in
the spin window. All of the users who have reported this
problem are running S-PLUS under Solaris 2.5 and Common
Desktop Environment. If they refresh the screen, all of the
old points get erased, and the point cloud is displayed
        correctly."

Unfortunately, we do not yet have a workaround or a fix. I have linked
your question to the bug report in our database.

I hope this helps. Please contact us here at technical support again
if you have further questions.

Sincerely,

We have confirmed this problem on Ultrasparc 1 3D configuration and the
problem should be fixed in a later release.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience that this causes you.
