Thanks to everyone for your input. Of course, I _WAS_ being stupid
and overlooking the terminal comma to refer the subsetting/indexing
to the rows. I still don't really understand why the empty dataframe
that resulted from my stupidity seems to hang summary() but that's
just looking for an excuse to diminish my shame.
Wonderful system -- wonderful list. Would that I had more time for
this!
