Thanks to all who replied to my question--this is the first time I have
contacted the s-news group and I had no idea how helpful people were!

I received several promising approaches to my question about the sequences
"a" and "b" of different lengths. To sum up the jist of most of them, a
convenient approach is along the lines of:

apply(a%o%(1+b), 1, function(x) prod(pnorm(x)))

Many thanks again.

R. Lyles
