Hi all,

I want to thank Prof Brian Ripley and Bill Venables for the pointers on
compiling the ModAppStat software and their advice regarding what is
appropriate or not to post on s-news. i apologize for wasting bandwith (of
which i'm again guilty of now) and i know better next time around.

as far as the compilation goes, i used gcc and rid of the -Xs option and
it compiled fine.

thanks,

fei
