I'm using S-Plus 4.5 on an NT 4.0 SP3 platform and am naively
using the S-Plus Import command to import an ASCII file into a data frame
object. That ASCII file has a column of data containing clock time (that
is, a time field that is in hh:mm:ss format). During the import process,
these data seemed to be transformed in such a way that I cannot convert or
retrieve them as clock time. Do any of you know a secret to importing
these data while converting this column such that it has chron
characteristics? As an aside, a column containing dates (yy/mm/dd format)
seems to be handled without any problem.
