I have a dataframe with a large number of variables (100) or so, and I'd
like a simple procedure for renaming variables. I'd like to be able to
change a variable name as part of a script, rather than by interactive
editing of the dataframe.

Tech support has given me one answer that involves identifying the
column position of the variable. However, as I will be adding variables
to my dataframe and quite possibly the column location of variables may
change, I would hope someone has something that can automatically
determine the column number of the variable and make the name change.

Thanks in advance
