Many thanks to the list and to MathSoft support (who clearly
watches this list and chimes in when appropriate). I obviously asked a
question that 1) is answered in the manuals, though I failed to parse
pertinent index extries as applicable to my specific application and 2) is
well known to nearly everyone else on the list. I received (at last
count) 23 replies.
The answer lies in applying !is.na(column) where column is the
column containing the NAs. Again, many thanks!
