SPLUS 4.5 IBM Win95 PC

Hello,
I like the vector plots in SPLUS (I use lat. lon. as coordinates),
unfortunately my GIS system (SPANS-GIS) does not produce such things.
Since my marine study area is quite big (Gulf of Maine - Canadian
Arctic), would you know how I could get maps with a projection (e.g.
Lambert Conformal) in SPLUS for the vector graphs ? Would I have to
correct my whole lat/lons for the projection, or is there another way
around ? As far as I see it, I might have to use an equal area
approach at the end.
Thanks in advance and best regards
    Falk
