Hello,
I posted recently a question about broken stick (segmented) 
regression, and an objective approach for applying this approach to 
data. Thanks to Joel Schwartz, John Wallace, Nick Ellis and Stephen 
Morris for their fast reply.

For a less subjective approach one could try using AIC (Joel 
Schwartz)
