I think all these are genuine for spin()/brush();  not Xceed specific.

``Everyone I know'' uses  Xgobi instead of  spin() or brush().

It's multiple times better and it's freely available, 
unfortunately not free in the sense of Open Source Software (OSS) / GNU sense.
