 I have received several replies:

Rich Calaway and SJ Smith respond:
Pages 61-66 of the S-PLUS 2000 User's Guide (pages 73-78 if you're
looking at the PDF file and using Acrobat's page numbering).

Terry Monaghan writes:
Clark - There is online help for importing FAME and Bloomberg data. You can
either open the dialogs and click the Help button, or search the online
help for Importing Data from Bloomberg (or FAME), or for
import.data.bloomberg (or import.data.fame).

Paul Chartraw responds:
its not a full interface - I discussed this at length with someone at
StatSci/Mathsoft shortly after the announcement.
They are not utilising the API per se, just the fields/methods available
via the DDE server feed.
(ie historic daily rates and current day tick-by-tick, but no historictick)

I will check out the API.

Thanks to everybody for the help,

Clark Sims
