Agree with you 100% on the "mildly irritating" part.  Had to deal with the
exact same thing not too long ago. Perhaps, in the next, new-and-improved
version of Splus, they might modify it so that a type= option is supplied
so you can choose "frequency", "rel.frequency" or "pdf".
