The latest GNU NT Emacs (version 20.5) for Win95/98/NT is not hard to
download and install
from the source (gnu.org) if you have WinZip. Therefore I have removed
emacs.zip (which
was version 20.4) from our web page. I have modified our page to lead
users
through the process and to make it relatively easy to complete the
installation by adding
ESS, AucTeX, RefTeX, gnuserv, telnet, and ftp (from our web page) to
Emacs. All of this
is easy if you like my file structure conventions. The URL is

http://hesweb1.med.virginia.edu/biostat/s/EmacsTeX/index.html

I have added other new stuff to the page, including pointers to
Ghostscript/Ghostview,
Active Perl, and comments for getting LaTeX into Word using the Hevea
html converter.

For those of you who already downloaded Emacs 20.4 it's not a bad
version at all.

I have heard from one user whose employer has not approved loading of
"other" software such as LaTeX on PCs. It's a good thing the job market

is great for statisticians right now!
