I have to decide whether to purchase and install Splus on a Windows 98 machine
(800 Mhz, 246ram, 20.4gb of hardrive) or on a multi-user Sun machine that
belongs to the school and from which I would rlogin into from the Windows
machine.
Here are the pros and cons that I considered, I would appreciate advice on
what to do.
Pro for the multi user machine: faster, large amounts of memory.
Pro for the Windows 98 machine: I have direct control on the machine,
presumably fewer problems in terms of getting graphs to show up on the
monitor.
Personal information: I have used Splus on my Sun computer for the last
10 years, but because I am tired of never being able to get any support,
I have decided to switch to a Windows 98 machine that is supported by the
computer staff in my school. Please do not try to convince me to run
unix or linux on my machine!
Thanks in advance for any help.
