I use S-Plus 4.5 sometimes to produce graphics for examination papers.
In this particular instance , it was necessary to domonstrate a particular
point
based on the axes scales. Strange though, could not find assistance after
hasty perusal of MASS, Krause&Melvin, Chambers(new S) and Spector.
Page 60 of my 2nd ed MASS discusses functions on Matrices and gives a
discription of the function 'Choleski', but no mention of the 'equally
spaced scales'. Looks like I may need to get an upgrade!
