The Thomas C. Chalmers Centre for Systematic Reviews is a
research initiative within the Children's Hospital of Eastern
Ontario (CHEO) Research Institute, University of Ottawa,
dedicated to producing evidence-based healthcare information. Our
team includes clinicians, research methodologists, epidemiologists,
statisticians, medical information specialists, project managers, and

Working on a Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR)
funded research grant, you will assist us to I. evaluate analytical
approaches dealing with biased sampling in the synthesis of health
research information (specifically, you will review and implement
statistical methods dealing with selection bias in meta-analysis,
conduct simulations to study their performance, and propose
innovative ways for their dissemination.); and II. participate, with
other members of the group, in providing statistical consulting
services for clinicians in their research to improve the care of
children in our hospital.
Qualifications for the position include: a Masters or Ph.D. in
statistics; working experience in statistical consulting; course work
and hands-on experience in statistical computing and simulation;
and extensive programming skills with Splus and a scientific
programming language such as Fortran 90 or C.
This position is now open and is a full-time position for 18 months
with possible extension. We offer a competitive salary and a
