The 26th Annual Summer Institute of Applied Statistics, sponsored by the
Department of Statistics, Brigham Young University, will be held
June 20,21,22, 2001.
The topic will be "Modeling Survival Data: Extending the Cox Model"
featuring Dr. Terry M. Therneau, Head of Section and Associate Professor
of Biostatistics at the Mayo Medical School.
The main thrust of Dr. Therneau's presentation will substantiate that
during the last 2-3 years the survival analysis software available in
several of the standard statistical packages has experienced a major
increment in functionality, and is no longer limited to the triad of
Kaplan-Meier curves, logrank tests, and simple Cox regression programs
such as phreg (SAS).
