Course Description: This three-day course is an introduction to S-PLUS aimed at
SAS Users. Once familiar with the user interface, we compare how the two
packages manage data. We review methods of statistical data analysis covered by
both packages. We?ll then explore some of the more novel features available in
S-PLUS; for example, non-parametric regression and tree-based models. Two
features of S-PLUS that complement SAS nicely are interactive analysis and
extensibility of the system. Examples of these will be presented and explored.
