When the S-news archive obtained a new search engine, I found it not to my
liking. After some experimentation, I found that I could use Google for
searching the archives. The process is fairly simple, just bookmark this
URL:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=site%3Awww.biostat.wustl.e
du+%5BS%5D
Click on that link and Google comes up with "site:www.biostat.wustl.edu [S]"
already in the search box. All you need to do is then ADD (not replace) the
search terms you want.
It's not unlikely that a similar technique could be used for your favorite
search engine.
