Dear all,
Does anyone know of a quick way in Splus (or R, for that matter) to
define equivalence classes?
Suppose we are given the following similarity matrix:
[,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] [,5]
[1,] 1 0 0 1 0
[2,] 0 1 0 0 1
[3,] 0 0 1 1 0
[4,] 1 0 1 1 0
[5,] 0 1 0 0 1
The equivalence classes (or partition) are then {1,3,4} and
{2,5}. Does anyone know how to get these classes/partitions?
I intend reposting a summary of responses received.
Thanks,
Ranjan
