We just upgraded our UNIX platform to version 6 of Splus. Under the old version, we could go to a subdirectory, creat a .Data file and write results in there. The new version seems to put all the files in a .Data under a user's home directory. That is a pain for people who want to work with large files in scratch space due to quotas in their home directories. Is there some way to override the default and set up a .Data in any directory?
