least absolute deviation statistical tests

Hello,

Splus unfortunately does not provide statistical tests of the coefficients 
generated by least absolute deviation regression (the Splus regression 
routine is l1fit).

What statistical tests should I use to test if a regression coefficient is 
different from 0 for lad regression?  Is there anything in Splus to do this?
