graphical exploration of editable graphics

Dear All, I'm a new user of Splus 6 for Windows, and write apologetically
with a fairly basic problem: I'm trying to explore graphical data on
graph-sheets created with guiCreate. I'm unable to identify data points
using the "select data points" from the "graph tool" toolbar.  Is there
another way of interactively highlighting and selecting when using editable
graphics ?
