Problems loading the sm library

Folks:

I run windows NT with SPLUS version 6.
In trying to load the windows version of the sm libraries (accompanying
Bowman & Azzalini's _Apllied Smoothing Techniques_), I fail.
(a problem that I do  not have with other libraries.)
I picked up my copy from the location the statlib indicates.
Anyone who had luck loading them?
