Hello there,

We're putting an equipment application together and we have to decide (soon)
on whether to go with a Sun server or an IBM one. In either case, we *need*
to run S-PLUS on this server.

The problem: since AIX isn't supported, we thought we could run Linux on the
server and use S-PLUS for Linux. However, there seem to be some
compatibility / support issues for *other* software products when Linux is
not running on an Intel chip. The IBM machine we're looking at has RISC RS64
IV chips.

The question: Does anybody have any experience on running S-PLUS for Linux
on this kind of chips? Any problems? Libraries work fine? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance for your time.

Matias
