Hello all,
I was wondering if it would be possible to use R's pt() function in place of the pt() function in S-Plus? Unfortunately S-Plus does not allow for a noncentral parameter in determining t probabilities from noncentral distributions. I've heard that pasting some functions into S-Plus from R works fine, but, in the case of pt() it doesn't. Also, more for the Insightful people, is there any likelihood that a function for pt() with a noncentrality parameter and especially a qt() with a noncentrality parameter will be developed anytime soon? As of right now I feel that biggest "thing" that is missing from S-Plus is the lack of noncentrality capability. I realize the pchisq() and pf() allow for noncentral parameters, but, neither of these allow for noncentral parameters for the finding quantiles. It is frustrating because I try to use S-Plus for all of my work, but, I am increasingly working with noncentral distributions, which forces me to use SAS or other programs when better noncentral capabilities.

Thanks very much,
Ken
