There are strong feelings [ at both extremes ] out there about SixSigma, and  I'd be fascinated to hear the views of other list-members.

As far as I know, 'SixSigma' is simply sensible quality control a la Shewhart \Deming\Wheeler, with some additional cost-related bells and whistles.

For me the key thing is the quality aspect.

An excellent source of  Splus QC tools is , as I never tire of saying ,   Qtoolbox , developed by CSIRO, see the website at :-

Dear S users

I am currently approaching the 6sigma methodology, and would like to use
S-PLUS based products for the data treatment (eg: version, platform, or
server based is here not important). I would like to ask the S/R-users if
any code or S-like technology is available. Also if any whitepapers,
articles about 6sigma is at hand, I would appriciate a link.

Venlig hilsen / Best Regards
