Ruud: If you are using S+ 6 then you might be interested in the correspondence 
following my recent similar query.  I decided to follow Prof Ripley's opinion 
and, for S+ 6 and Windows 2000, to use Microsoft C++ v6.  However, I should 
probably point out that not all respondents agreed, largely on the basis that 
C++ v6 has been superseded by the .NET version.  The problem is that the latter 
does not work with the CONNECT/C++ tools.  Neal
