Thanks to Herb Root, Leonid Gibiansky, Jean Adams, Marc Schwartz and Jim
Pratt for their quick responses and for sharing their processes for copying
graphs to Word.
The suggestions (in the order received) were to:
trellis.device(graphsheet, format='WMF',width=9,height=6,print.background="" file='plot2##.wmf',color.scheme='Trellis black on white',orientation='landscape'), a customization of Jim's command, seems to work. Thanks again to all who responded. Naomi
