Dear all,

I apologise for the generic posting. I am interested in peoples expreiance
in using s-plus in comparision to arcview spatial analyst to statistically
analyse spatial data. I am fairly conversent with both arcview/info and
splus but havent really used the spatial staistics functions in either
software. I was wondering if anybody out their could briefly tell me which
one is generally better (or in which specific case one preforms better). In
reality im after a pro and cons list for the two softwares. Basically I hate
learning new software, so I would like to choose one thats going to meet the
majority of general usage I would prefer to become proficient in that one,
and use the other when I cant perform it. I realise its a general question
but the type of problems I will be trying to solve will be quite general
also. THe datasets that i will be analysing are forestry related and tend to
be of a large size.

thanks in advance

Andrew Haywood
