The Investment Strategies Unit (ISU), a quantitative research team within
Schroders, is looking for a permanent programmer to assist in the
maintenance and development of systems and products, within a team of 10
based in London. Conducting world class research and risk management with
growing Fund Management operations, the ISU began managing funds over three
years ago and now manages over US$2.5 billion in Global, US, European and UK
equity strategies. Each of these strategies is steadily building a strong
relative performance track record with low volatility.
Educated to degree level in a subject that is either mathematical/financial
or science related, the successful candidate must be VB and Sql Server
literate and experience of C++ and Vb.net would be advantageous. Although
experience within the Finance/Fund Management industry is preferred, a
formal fund management background is not essential, but the candidate needs
to understand enough about products and trades to come up with sensible
questions and general solutions that lead to good investment decisions.
Knowledge of industry data sources such as Factset and Bloomberg is also
preferred.
The work itself will be initially centred around database development and
building applications off it. Whilst looking for a specialist (with coding
abilities) we are also looking for an all-rounder eager to learn more; the
department is not overdefined and compartmentalised and team members need to
get involved in all areas thereby showing a willingness to roll sleeves up
and get involved in all aspect of ISU work. Remuneration will be competitive
and based upon experience.
To apply, please email a resume and letter of application to
Christian.Davies@Scrhroders.com by close of business next Wednesday (30th
April).
