World Map

Hi.

I downloaded the world map database from the statlib page and have not 
been able to install it on my Unix computer (Splus 6).  I think I
followed the directions correctly (even obtained the Lmake and Gmake files
from map.builder).  

When I try to draw a map with 

> map("world",  xlim = c(-76.0, -65), ylim=c(35.0, 46.0)) 

I get the following error message:

Problem in map("world", xlim = c(-76., -65), ylim = ..: nothing to draw:
all regions out of bounds


Has anyone out there run into this problem and can lend a hand?
