After plotting and labeling some trees with tree function, terminal nodes
appear too clustered, becoming unreadable. I think that reducing the
number of decimals in the node labels and/or reducing the font size could
help, but I have been unable to do so.

I have tried with text(x, digits=3) and text.tree(x, digits=3), where x
is the tree object that I first plot with plot(x). Unfortunately the
labels of nodes (and leafs) do not change.

Do you have any hint?

I am using S-PLUS 2000 Professional Edition Release 2 for Microsoft
Windows : 1999
